Meals

We operate on a ‘set menu’ fixed meal time basis, a lot like a cruise ship or boy scout camp. For example, Fridays we have a seafood buffet at 7:00, Saturday is prime rib and Yorkshire pudding, Sunday is roast local turkey and mashed potatoes at 6:30.

Breakfast is anytime between 8:00 and 9:30, lunch is a buffet with homemade soup and a hot feature at 12:30. Tea and snacks are featured at 4:00 and 10:00 pm. We bake all our own goodies, and the majority of our bread on site. Local produce is featured as much as possible.

While this meal plan sounds a little different to first time guests, most of our regulars wouldn’t have it any other way. All your meals are included in our reasonable rate. No one, repeat, no one leaves hungry. We have a liquor license, but not a bar. You can pick up a reasonably priced bottle of wine (local or imported; our ‘house wine’ is also available by the glass or carafe), beer or cider, maybe an after dinner liquor, and enjoy them with your meal, in our big living room, front entrance way, downstairs rumpus room or your room or cabin.

Special Diets

If you have an allergy, are diabetic or you don’t eat meat, we can usually accommodate your needs but we do need advance notice of at least 24 hours.

We are not able to change our menu for preferences (‘I don’t like salmon’) and we ask people on ‘optional’ diets (from a book, or something) to try and ‘eat around’ our regular menu. Special diet guests are required to confirm their diets upon check-in and identify themselves to our serving people in order to get their special meals. Guests who order a special meal, fail to claim it or don’t follow their diet, may be charged for the extra meal prepared.
